Pipe leaks and sewer problems can be much more complicated than routine plumbing issues. If you can’t see where the problem is, there’s not much you can do. At Trenchless Replacement Specialists, we use state-of-the-art equipment to locate the source of the problem and get it fixed. In this post, we’ll discuss the process used for our video pipe inspections. These allow us to easily pinpoint leaks, cracks, and blockages within your pipes.

NO DIGGING

In the old days, plumbing companies used to have to dig out entire sections of pipe until they found the problem. Today, fiber-optic cameras can be sent down the pipe to inspect the entire sewer line with little to no digging! They can even go underneath or inside cement foundations to find problems there.

HOW IT WORKS

You know there’s a leak, but don’t know how to find it. Trenchless Replacement Specialists is the answer. First, we insert a tiny camera in a pipe as small as two inches wide. We can access it from a drain, manhole, or any place that creates the least possible disruption.

The high-resolution video camera connects to a flexible fiber-optic scope that’s both durable and waterproof so it can get through any gunk that may be between us and the lead. There’s even an LED light to make sure the camera can see inside the pipe. The scope’s flexibility enables it to bend around curves and corners.

Above ground, our experts watch the whole process unfold live on a monitor. We can check the conditions of pipes to see where they need to be repaired or if they need to be replaced. The video is recorded so we can refer back to it as needed.

A tracker helps identify the exact spot of the crack or leak in the pipe. Once we’ve done that, we can decide the best way to make repairs.
