A burst sewage pipe is one of the worst things that can happen to your home. But instead of panicking, you just need to know who to call. In this post, we’ll explain some of the ways that Trenchless Replacement Specialists can get you out of a jam thanks to modern techniques.

TRENCHLESS SOLUTION

The trenchless pipe repair option is great because it doesn’t involve digging. That means no tearing up your yard or destroying landscaping in order to remove or replace a pipe. It also means you don’t have to destroy roads or sidewalks in public spaces.

Construction workers prefer trenchless methods too, especially since eliminating digging is a major safety improvement. That increased safety also means cost savings for you.

TRENCHLESS REPAIR METHODS

There are a variety of methods that can be used to repair or replace damaged sewage pipes without digging. Here are some of the most popular techniques:

Pipe bursting is a common method of repairing a broken pipe. An expander head is inserted into the old, broken pipe from ground level. It attaches to the existing pipe and is then pulled all the way through the line. Once in place, a force is applied to “burst” the old pipe apart and allow the new pipe to be secured in its place. In some cases, the new pipe can even be a larger circumference than the old pipe.

Mechanical spot repair works in situations where a pipe is cracked in only one area and doesn’t need complete replacement. This can also work if one section of the pipe has collapsed.  Trenchless Replacement Specialists can feed a tiny camera through an opening in the ground and find the exact spot of the damage. From there, we’re able to either repair or replace if necessary.

Cured-in-place pipe may be considered the most innovative trenchless solution. After cleaning the pipe from the ground, a liquid liner is pumped into the length of the pipe. Then a tube with water or air presses the resin in the liner into place. Hot water is applied, and the resin hardens to form a brand new pipe.
