In our last blog, we discussed some of the common ways that underground pipes can be damaged and stop working the way they are supposed to. This includes tree roots that find their way into the pipe and grow from there, as well as leaky pipe joints that can lead to bigger problems over time. So what’s the solution? Traditionally, repairs would involve digging up and replacing the pipes. This is timely, costly, and leaves your yard a mess. Other pipe maintenance services will work to clear your lines, but the roots and leaks will come back, and repeated maintenance will prove costly and ultimately ineffective. That brings us to trenchless pipe repair:

No Mess

Its first advantage is obvious; it’s in the name. Because we are Trenchless Replacement Specialists, there’s no digging, no drilling, no damaging anything on your property. We access your pipes from ground-level access points. As mentioned above, this saves time, money, and a big mess!

Our Pipe Repair Process

The process we use to actually replace the pipe is called “cured in place” pipe restoration and it’s the secret to keeping your pipes working for years to come. Once we’ve cleared roots and debris from your old pipes, we replace them from the inside out. Using a flexible hose filled with our special epoxy, we’re able to feed directly into the drain. We then expand the hose, the epoxy hardens, and the process is complete. The new pipe is formed literally inside the old pipe, creating a brand new lining.

Why It’s Effective

But how does it work? How does it prevent problems like roots and leaks from happening again? The simple answer is that it limits the amount of moisture that’s able to escape. The new tube molds itself to the old pipe, meaning it’s flexible, and that there are no joints where leaks can even begin.  It also completely seals off any area where roots can get in, or water can get out.
